Asaf Atasoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asfa Holding and a philanthropic businessman, issued a message on the occasion of ‘Mevlana Week’.

Asaf Atasoy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asfa Holding, included the following statements in his message;

“Come, come, whoever you are, come again, Our monastery is not a monastery of despair, Even if you have broken your repentance a hundred times, come again…” With these words, Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, a Sufi thinker from the 13th century, continues to illuminate our path and remains a symbol of tolerance and love today.

Mevlana is a saintly figure whose light of knowledge has shone from centuries ago to the present day, and who is certain to illuminate the world forever. What makes him remembered with mercy in this world and enriches his afterlife is his dedication to the path of truth. Hearts barren with worldly anxieties are reborn through the drops of wisdom that flow from his teachings and advice.

Mevlana was not only a great poet, a founder of a religious order, a profound Sufi, and a comprehensive scholar; he was also a man of deep spirit who built a bridge between the newly emerging cultures in Anatolia, fostering harmony and unity among different communities.

With these feelings and thoughts, I commemorate Mevlana Hazretleri with mercy and gratitude on the 752nd anniversary of his passing, and I offer my respects.

Foundations are one of the most beautiful manifestations of the understanding of cooperation and solidarity that our nation has adopted throughout history. The foundation tradition, which aims to make goodness permanent, has contributed to the strengthening of social justice; it has given hope to those in need and direction to education and art.

Today, this ancient heritage is being reinterpreted in accordance with the requirements of the age and continues to serve every segment of society. The foundations that have emerged from the conscience of our nation for centuries are an institutionalized civilization institution on the path of charity and service. Today, through foundations, food is brought to those in need, light to the path of students, and relief to the hearts of the oppressed; the most powerful representation of social justice, mercy and solidarity in our lives is kept alive. We are aware that it is a national duty and civilizational duty to keep these ancient institutions that elevate our national honor alive, to recognize them and to introduce them to future generations.

The mosques, inns, baths, caravanserais, soup kitchens, hospitals, madrasahs and social complexes that our nation has built over the centuries and left to us are carrying the spirit of the past to the future with the efforts of our General Directorate of Foundations.

On the occasion of Foundations Week, I once again realize the importance of keeping this high understanding and tradition of charity alive; I wholeheartedly believe that this sublime heritage, which keeps the spirit of social solidarity alive, will be a source of inspiration for our future.

As a reflection of our civilization, foundations have been the strongest expression of social solidarity, brotherhood and compassion for centuries. I wholeheartedly congratulate all individuals and institutions who have contributed to foundation services; I hope that this meaningful week will further strengthen our culture of cooperation and sharing. I wholeheartedly celebrate the “Foundations Week” of our dear nation and wish that the spirit of foundations will always remain alive.

On the 751st death anniversary of Sufi Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, President Özlü emphasized the “7 Advices” that form the basis of the Mevlevi understanding and have a great place in Sufism, and included the following views in his message: “751 years have passed since Hz. Mevlana, who has a very special place in Turkish history, Islamic history, and Sufism history, reunited with his beloved. Our culture, enriched by his teachings, and his Mesnevi, which emerged with his endless love and affection for the Prophet and Almighty Allah, have been the greatest proof of how deep his submission was. We clearly see in the 7 advices he gave to humanity that loving the created, being modest, learning what you do not know, and reflecting what you have learned in your life are also ways for us to get closer to the Creator. There will be benefit and goodness in everything that humanity builds with love. Our lands are home to the Sufi understanding he devoted himself to and the works he produced, it is obvious how important a civilization we continue to live in. We have to do more than our best to pass on our rich culture to future generations by possessing this wealth and this treasure.

This is our common responsibility and duty. On this occasion, I respectfully commemorate Hz. Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi on the 751st anniversary of his death and wish him to rest in peace. I hope that the Mevlana Week, in which we commemorate Şeb-i Arus, will be a blessing for humanity.”

ASFA HOLDING Chairman of the Board of Directors Asaf ATASOY included the following statements in his message;

Every year, thousands of children in Turkey and around the world are diagnosed with leukemia, and these little bodies enter a long and delicate treatment process.

Leukemia is a treatable disease. It is very important to keep the morale and motivation of children undergoing leukemia treatment high with love. Because the most basic needs of our children with leukemia are love and hope.

Children with Leukemia Week is a week in which big hearts in tiny bodies will embrace each other with love and social awareness will be raised.

I hope that the 2-8 November Children with Leukemia Week will be a means to raise awareness in our society, and I wish a speedy recovery to all our citizens who are fighting leukemia.
